Typical GALAPAGOS TRAVEL 15 Day Cruise Itinerary

Day 1 - Baltra - Transfer from the airport to the yacht. Visit North Seymour in the afternoon. Evening lecture on island formation and biogeographical setting.

Day 2 - San Cristóbal - Cerro Brujo in the morning (including snorkeling), followed by a circumnavigation of Kicker Rock. Afternoon visit to the new Interpretation Center in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. Evening lecture on sea birds (part 1).

Day 3 - Española - Gardner Bay in the morning (including snorkeling at Tortuga Rock). Punta Suarez in the afternoon. Evening lecture on Human History in the Galapagos.

Day 4 - Floreana - Punta Cormoran in the morning (including snorkeling at Devil's Crown). Snorkeling at Champion. Afternoon stop at Post Office Bay. Evening lecture on reptiles.

Day 5 - Isabela - Sierra Negra Volcano. (Horseback ride to caldera then walk to steam vent.). Afternoon visit to the Tortoise Rearing Center and shore bird lagoon outside Villamil. Evening video/lecture on Whales (Part1)

Day 6 - Isabela - Whale watching in the morning. Afternoon panga ride at Elizabeth Bay (including snorkeling at Marielas Islets). Evening lecture on sea birds (part 2).

Day 7 - Isabela - Urvina Bay in the morning. Fernandina - Punta Espinoza (including snorkeling) in the morning. Evening video/lecture on Whales (Part2) .

Day 8 - Isabela - Morning panga ride at Tagus Cove, followed by snorkeling at Punta Vicente Roca. Whale watching in the afternoon. Evening lecture on fishes and sharks.

Day 9 - James - Sullivan Bay (incl. snorkeling) in the morning. Rabida (incl. snorkeling) in the afternoon. Evening lecture on reptiles, including Lonesome George story.

 Day 10 - Santa Cruz - Puerto Ayora / Charles Darwin Research Station (CDRS) in the morning. Lunch at a seaside restaurant in town. Afternoon in the Highlands, looking for tortoises in the wild and vermilion flycatchers. Dinner in the Highlands at the Narwhal restaurant. Evening video and lecture on conservation in Galápagos.

Day 11 - Santa Cruz - Morning visit to long time island resident Jacqueline De Roy, followed by shopping opportunity in Puerto Ayora. Afternoon at Santa Fe island. Evening lecture on pinnipeds.

Day 12 - Tower - Darwin Bay (incl. snorkeling) and Prince Phillip's steps (including panga ride). Evening video.lecture on geology.

Day 13- Sombrero Chino in the morning (incl. snorkeling). James - Sullivan Bay lava field in the afternoon (including snorkeling). Bartolome - snorkeling around Pinnacle Rock (plus a possible night snorkel). Evening lecture on Evolution and Charles Darwin..

Day 14 - Bartolome - Climbing "Heartbreaker" (Pinnacle Rock) before breakfast. Mid-day circumnavigation of Daphne Major, where Drs. Peter & Rosemary Grant are currently documenting evolution of the Darwin finches; their research is featured in the Pulitzer Prize winning BEAK OF THE FINCH. South Plaza in the afternoon. Farewell dinner on yacht. Review of trip.

Day 15 - Santa Cruz - Black Turtle Cove in the morning. Baltra - Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the mainland.

This is a typical route. Routing variations may occur depending on flight schedules, the yacht, weather, or modifications made by the Galápagos National Park Service (who attempts to minimize tourist impact on visitor sites.)
